top two reasons to visit SDN

I'm starting to realize that there are two kinds of people that come on this forum and spend countless hours reading and posting.

Type I: Those who come here to brag and remind everyone how great they are
Type II: Those who are freaking out that they don't measure up (because they repeatidly visit SDN)

I think an interview is worth some bragging rights...If I were graced with an interview I probably wouldnt be able to keep my mouth shut.

That's actually why I joined, too. I was doing a supp . . . for Washington, I think. Anyway, I thought what better way to avoid doing it than to play around on the Internet?

and hanging out on SDN is almost the same as doing your apps because at least we're on topic here, right? That's what I figure. Maybe I'll put my SDN hours on my app, under "dental experience." 😀

In some schools eyes I am a type 2 in others I am a type 1. It just depends on the school.

The only reason I keep coming back is to check and see who has interviews where, so that I can get a feel if I am toward the top of a school's list. Like a few weeks ago Temple started sending out invites. I heard it from this forum and then a few days later I got an invite. That helps me to know where I stand with Temple. Boston on the other hand has been handing out interviews for over a week via emial and I haven't received one. That tells me where I stand with them.

So all in all, I use it mainly for info.

A third category needs to be added: Those who are trying to delay studying by finding any excuse to waste time

Honestly... for some twisted reason I troll the boards looking for some gem of info that will help me get into dental school. And even though I know that info doesn't exist, I still come back every day. Now thats addiction.
