How do you guys plan on packing suits and dress shirt?
Buy a suit bag to take with you on the plane as a carryon/personal item

I'd also recommend looking through captainnerd's posts in the previous two threads linked in the first post. They were very informative, for the most part.
All airplanes that have first class will have a small closet to store your suit, regardless of if you have first class seats or not. I gave the suit bag to them as soon as I entered.
Southwest doesn't have first class, so you need to put it on top of the carry on luggage space above the seats.

So to be safe I should buy a garment bag? They cost like 50 bucks. Anyone knows any cheap brand? I did some search on amazon and it seems like 50 bucks is on the low side already.
i'm guessing faux hawk = bad idea? and likewise getting lined up = bad idea too?
I got my suit from Macy's and they gave a free plastic suit bag. It basically covers the suit. There is no folding. You can stop by Macy's, JCPenney, etc. There are many other suit stores where you can ask them.

light grey suits?
Depends. Look through the old thread this was answered
^go ahead and buy one. If you get multiple interviews its a good investment. Good for weddings too
^^ I wouldnt think it would be good
light grey suits?
I have seen people pull them off. However, I'm more of a traditional guy and my top choice/recommendation would be navy blue.

What's wrong with light gray suit? I am gonna go with black. I read the old thread and it seems like everybody wants to go navy. What's the reasoning behind that?

Black is way to formal. Navy blue and charcoal are the standard interview and business suits.

I've heard navy people tend to trust people in blues... funny how colors effect us.
True. Never wear a sold black suit. You can wear a navy blue, charcoal, blackish suit, or blackish suit with light stripes. I have a charcoal suit and saw many others too.

Well we should make thread to gauge the accepted rate of navy suit vs. other colors. Anyway I can't afford another suit at the moment so I am gonna take a leap of faith and stick with black.I've heard navy people tend to trust people in blues... funny how colors effect us.
What about like a navy jacket with khaki pants? Too informal? I'm just thinking walking around El Paso, or anywhere in TX for that matter, in August in a charcoal suit is going to be incredibly uncomfortable... break the shades out 😎

Yar ill tell ya how that goes tomorrow

Ill just put my jacket on inside
I was thinking of going in something like a brown suit, something different than the normal black/blue suits.
I think the light gray is not a bad choice. This kind of suit requires confidence however.
I'll wear whatever Barney Stinson wears!!!
I got this last week. It fits 2 suits, and basically everything else you need for 1-2 days, and it's small enough to be a carry on.So to be safe I should buy a garment bag? They cost like 50 bucks. This suit is dope. Also what do you all think about wearing a vest?

Hmmm what about for a black male, I would think that a black suit would be too Men In Black-ish. How bout a grey suit? Any thoughts?

Gonna say that I disagree. I hate navy suits... charcoal is OK I guess.
But black suits are awesome. No matter what. You break it up with a white shirt and a nice tie.

I say this coming from working at a mens suit/professional clothing store for a number of years and working some summers in a big company. Black is too formal. Its meant for weddings, banquets, dances, etc. In the business world, older interviewers are set on this paradigm. You just have to play their song and dance to be safe.

+1...Any thoughts on what tie color would be good? I'm thinking of a red tie stripes with white. Any other thoughts?

Either way, I own something like 5 suits of my own. 4 of which are black-type suits.
In all honesty, if you look professional enough, it doesn't matter what color the suit is really. They aren't going to accept/reject you based on the pinstripe of your suit. Then again, someone may invent subliminal messaging within pinstripes, and then neurotic pre-meds will come running... hmmmmmm

I like anything purple on white etc. Or....

Oh im not saying black suits look terrible. infact im like you, I own multiple suits, the most happen to be black. But if its a professional matter i have my nonblack suite.
True. You just dont want to stick out in the negative way. If your the guy that came in with his prom suit there might need to be a change

looks like I might get myself a grey suit too
Is that a yay or nay? T.I's suit looks a little loose, but Ludacrious' looks resonably well

Agreed. I love pink ties as well on white shirts and black or grey suits but pink tends to be more for proms, weddings...etc and not more for an interview. I'm just debating on whether I should use a black suit with white shirt and red tie or a grey suit with a pink suit and white shirt like that of luda's in the picture. Any thoughts which is better?

MATCH YOUR BELT TO YOUR SHOES
AND DO NOT WEAR WHITE SOCKS WITH BLACK DRESS SHOES!

Yeah Luda looks the freshest.
This one isn't bad although I'm not a big fan of the tie

Can someone give me their opinion about vests?
this should be common knowledge
It SHOULD be... but do you know how many times I see those unfortunate cases of when neither of the above mentioned things occurs?
My lab is right next to the building where MD candidates interview... it's like a bad fashion show for some of those students.
Also... another pet peeve... the back of your collar should properly conceal the neck of your tie. You know when like 2cm of it sticks out in the back? Looks like you're a huge tool.
