First i submitted PTCAS to schools w/o supplemental essays; while waiting for processing, am now currently working on essays from schools that require them. Specifically NYMC's question:

"Why do you want to attend a physical therapy program with a strong problem based curriculum design? Give examples from your life of how you have demonstrated the independent thinking, problem solving abilities, group interaction skills, and self discipline necessary to succeed in a problem based curriculum."

Anyone with an idea what problem based curriculum design is? Thanks so much in advance!

Problem-based learning is a rigorous, highly structured teaching methodology which places the student in a position of active responsibility for learning and mastering content. In a group of peers, the student learns new material by confronting and solving problems in the form of a clinical patient case.

Basically...its more of self taught methods rather than relying on the teacher for all the answers. Anyone have any other input?
