OFFICIAL 2005 "DIDN'T GET IN ANY DAMN SCHOOL" THREAD

A little tongue in cheek I know, but I didn't get accepted anywhere this cycle and I'm curious to see what other people like me plan on doing now.

Hang On Sloopy - getting a master's degree at one of 2 schools (i'll update it when i decide which one) and then applying again in 2 years.

Persistence is important. Researching the schools is also important when DAT and GPA are said and done with.

LOL...im seriously kidding. Good luck Nendo, I am sure you will get into the 2006 class, just apply as early as possible.

i think its the way im holding her she's only 7 pounds...i wouldn't call that obese lol, either way she was put to sleep this saturday, i'm sad 🙁 🙁

I'm sorry. Why? I went through 4 dogs growing up, one after the other. I just didn't have good luck keeping them alive I guess. One was hit by a car, one had cancer, one went blind and started biting everybody.... 🙁

I will be applying this May and I wanted to know what you guys who did not get in thought were your downfalls if any?

Just wanted to see if I will be in the very sucky position you guys are in.

she had disk disease and damaged nerve endings, so in the last two months she got paralysis and it was progressing to her front legs didn't want her to suffer any more 🙁

I didn't get in anywhere because I didn't apply anywhere 🙄 . I figured I'd save the rejection letters and not apply last cycle, but I'm applying this cycle. What is the approx. cost of applying for you guys? I'm applying to like 5 schools; feel like I'm wasting money applying to schools I WONT get into.

around 450 for aadsas and another ~250 for secondaries what schools are you applying to?

I think it's a good question.

Some common problems (aside from lower GPAs and poor DAT scores):

Late applications due to: 1. Turning AADSAS in late 2. LORs being late 3. Not turning in AADSAS because you are waiting to take your DAT

Actually, that was Plan A... got any ideas for plan C? I think I can add myself to this forum too. Good luck everyone.

Add to that any costs for travel to interviews. I'd also suggest applying to more schools than five to increase your chances. 👍

Does insane competition for seats this cycle count as a valid reason? 😀

Seriously, to answer your question, I'd have to say in my case that lower GPA and 19AA 18TS 17PAT scores were the issue. I'm guessing that if the field is as competitive as it was last cycle, that 20+ across the board may be necessary in my situation.
Of course, now I also have a better understanding of school acceptance tendencies so maybe that will help too?
