I will be a Prelim Medicine intern next year, and I'm interested in suggestions for useful PDA software. I found the PDA/technology forum minimally helpful. Please PM me any thoughts on what is good or bad.

There are other good programs out there. The following are all free, and run on both the Palm and the Pocket PC.

Drug Reference
- Mobile PDR (www.pdr.net)
- Epocrates (www.epocrates.com)
Clinical Calculator
- Archimedes (www.skyscape.com)
Decision Support
- Mobile Merck Medicus (www.merckmedicus.com)
- TheraDoc (for pain mgmt and ID) (www.merckmedicus.com)
- PubMed On Tap (archive.nlm.nih.gov/proj/pmot/pmot.php)
- Diagnosaurus (books.mcgraw-hill.com/medical/diagnosaurus)
- Medical Eponyms (www.eponyms.net)

Lexi-drugs is probably the best drug application...costs some money, but is constantly updated, has pharmacokinetic info and comprehensive dosing recs that ePocrates doesn't have...a good buy.

I used to use Clinical Medicine Consult (not the 5 minute medicine consult program). It was an exceptionally well written and referenced PDA text, but since my PDA was filched about 8 months ago, haven't had the opportunity to use it any more. Highly recommend that program over the 5 minute program.
