Haha, my school beat your school in the Sugar Bowl.
Maybe so...but your school is in West Virginia. A place where branching on a family tree occurs almost as often as WV gets to the Sugar Bowl.

CONGRATS!!! Their campus is beautiful and people seem friendly. The stadium is awesome. You probably already know all of this I'm sure, but I was just there visiting friends in January and I loved it. I haven't heard UGA mentioned much on here and you are the only one that I've seen them accept on here. I'm sure I've just missed some posts, but enjoy the planning.

Yeah, whatever, there, slave state. As soon as I crossed into the Georgia border I was surrounded by 4 pickups with confederate flags in the back window. It's the only place on Earth I've ever been to where the word "book" rhymes with the work "duke". A Georgian calling West Virginia backwoods is worse than a pot calling a kettle black, it's like a pot calling a kettle a faulty lawnmower.

Hmmm...something tells me you don't quite grasp what the phrase "pot calling a kettle black" means.

This Georgia vs West Virginia state bashing is hilarious though. It is like watching two ******s argue over who has the better IQ score. :meanie:

(The ******s representing the states...not you two)

It's to show hypocracy. Like a KKK member caling a Nazi a racist. But to call a kettle a lawnmower would be like Forrest Gump calling Stephen Hawking a ******. It's worse than mere hypocracy.

Honestly, I really don't care where anyone is from. Unless it's New Jersey. Those people make me want to kill puppies. Half the town has New Jersey plates. They seem to enjoy talking on their cell phones in their parents' BMW while going 70 in a 25 and then honking at me when I start walking at a crosswalk 1/4 mile away.

Oh, and congrats on getting into Georgia. Nice folks down there, honest.

Thanks WVUPharm2007 no hard feelings just had to give my retort. The Sugar Bowl sore still hasn't completely healed down here yet. That first half of football was like watching the first 20 minutes of Final Destination 2 ...HORRIFING! My hat is off to WV’s offence which obliterated Georgia’s defense, but I don't think it will happen this year without your golden boy Marcus.

Who? Marcus? Like Marcus Vick? Dude, that's Virginia Tech. Those ACC aholes can burn in hades for all eternity.

About the big play makers, Slaton (RB, 204 yards, 3 TDs rushing in the Sugar) & White (QB) were both Freshman. Schmitt (FB) and Reynaud (WR, 2 TDs in Sugar) are Sophomores. The team is stacked for years.

Don't hate because you wern't good enough to get into the ACC.

At least y'all look REALLY REALLY good in that small pond called the Big Easy...oops I meant East

Hahaha. Yeah, like Boston College and Vatech are so great. The only truely great team was Miami. BC has already faded into mediocrity, and after the baby Vick fiasco VaTech is soon to follow. The ACC rep to the BCS was 8-5. Please. WVU could have stomped any ACC team last season in January after they got Slaton and White in the saddle.

Don't count the Big East out yet. Louisville and WVU are legit top 10 teams, South Florida is a budding giant, and the big state schools Pitt and Syracuse will be back in time. In 5 years, I GUARANTEE you that the Big East will be better.

Go Rutgers! Those Scarlet Knights are a fearsome threat in the Big East!

By the way- football season ends in December with the exception of a few bowl games. I'm glad Rich got his troops together just in time in January!

It's funny how no one gives UConn any respect. You heard it here first...UCONN wins the Big East next year and wins the BCS bowl game.

Don't worry, I hate UGA too.

Ahhh, New Jersey. I need a shower.

Well, I'd argue he got them together in October, but who am I?

Uhhh....no. If UCONN really does win the Big East, then the Big East bashing needs to end forever because there are already two definate top 15 teams in a 8 team league.

Don't worry, I hate UGA too.
Eh, they're ok. I was at the Sugar bowl, very gracious losers.

if you don't mind my asking, what was your gpa and your pcat?

i'm waiting to hear from them too but i'm out of state :scared:

I am a Georgia resident and my stats are as follows:

PCAT Composite 95%
Prepharmacy GPA 4.0
Overall GPA 3.96
Bachelor of Music Performance

Good luck! I hope to call you a classmate in the Fall.

Wow...so there are two posters now that went from Music to Pharmacy. I wonder if there are any others....

Well ****, I hope the rest of the instate applicants aren't that competitive or i'm ****ed.

I have 96 pcat, 4.0 gpa. Undergrad.

The only thing against you is your residency status. With those stats I have to think that you will be one of the lucky out-of-state acceptances. However, I do know of one in-state applicant that scored a 98% on the PCAT and had a 3.25 GPA and was waitlisted. I think the admission averages will be even higher this year than last (PCAT 93, GPA 3.7). Just out of curiosity where are you from, and what is your major? Good luck!

I'm a student at clemson university. My declared major is "pre-pharmacy."

I'm trying to figure out a contingency plan should I not get in. I'm not sure if I would want to wait (waste, rather) a year and re-apply. Sigh... we'll see. Should find out today hopefully.

Are you sure you will find out today? I haven't heard anything yet and I'm in Georgia.

my mom just called. I got in.

Cya at UGA! 👍

I look forward to meeting you. You should be very proud only a handful of out-of-state applicants get accepted!

Very well deserved! Now you can tell Mercer where to put your application after torturing you with the "Not ready to make a decision" letter. Hope to see you again in the fall.

 I'm not even going to care when their letter comes!

What did they do, did you get the "on hold" letter too?

Oh, and by which date are we supposed to send a deposit to UGA? The letter didn't mention anything about a deposit. 😕

deposit? huh? what're you talkin' 'bout?

mercer just hassled me about the interview dates. they signed me up for april 3rd and said they didn't have any other dates... 2 weeks before april 3rd they call me up and tell me i should have called them earlier if i wanted a different date.

they were just annoying to deal with. 👎

I assume that once we send in our letter accepting the position along with our schedule to finish pre-pharmacy courses (if not yet completed) then they will send the big letter with all the details on deposits and FAFSA/Financial Aid stuff. I guess they just sent letters of acceptance to speed up the process and save some trees 😀

That makes sense. 🙂 Where do you think you're going to live? Are there specific apartments in the area where pharmacy students live? And also, do people walk to class or drive? I might make another trip to Athens before I finally decide.

One more thing, do you know whether class notes and/or lecture audio are provided online and whether class attendance is taken?

Sorry for all the questions, just wanted to know a few more things before I make a final decision. :meanie:

We are going to try to buy a home. I am tired of apartments and want to get some equity in something so that we aren't just making rich people richer, plus Mandy graduated and is not a full fledged speech pathologist and buying is a possibility (yet another reason I am not going to Mercer, houses in Atlanta are ridiculous!)

As for the lectures and attendance I know about as much as you. I hope they have an orientation prior to school so that we have some idea about how things work. I bet all these questions will be answered once they send the second mailing after we have accepted.

Just wondering if anyone who was accepted at UGA has received the admissions packet yet. I emailed my acceptance of the position on the 17th, but I have not received anything yet. Congratulations to everyone! Hope to meet you all in August.

No not yet. I mailed my acceptance off on the 18th and haven't received the admissions packet either. Although, Mercer quickly sent me a questionare about my admissions experience after receiving my "relinquishing letter" (mailed the same day). I though we had to sign the letter to make it officail and that is why I mailed it, I didn't know they would accept an e-mail 😳 .

Hey all - just wondering if anyone knows about the age range or mean age of UGA's class. Also, are there any admission stats available which describe the number of students in each class that were already UGA students? I thought I saw this info before, but I can't find it now.
