Where is AMCAS GPA shown? I filled out all the courses taken along with the grades, but don't see my GPA computed anywhere.

Also, what does "credit hours" mean in this context? Is it just number of units?

Finally, is it up to me to convert between semester and quarter units or does AMCAS do that automatically?

Thanks!

MCAT doesn't do anything with your semester/quarter units. AMCAS does. I'm not sure about the semester/quarter unit conversion since all of my courses were semester courses. If I were you, I'd check out the pdf they have posted on the AMCAS site that explains all of this. Also, you won't know your gpa until you click "SUBMIT" when you're done filling the entire primary application out, and get verified. Once verified, you'll see your gpa, which is calculated by AMCAS. Also, you'd probably have more luck posting this in the pre-allo forum instead of the MCAT forum. This post really has nothing to do with the MCAT. Good luck.

This thread is related to the AMCAS application and so it is more appropriate for the pre-allo forum rather than the MCAT forum. Moving to pre-allo...

When you submit your AMCAS and print it out that's where your computed GPA shows up.

1. DO NOT DO ANY CONVERSIONS ON YOUR OWN ON THE AMCAS. Just make sure you're labeling your course TERMS correctly Semester or Quarter system, and just write the units AS THEY ARE on your transcript.

2. CREDIT HOURS are what AMCAS will conver it into (basically semester system)

3. AMCAS GPA will only be shown once you submit it with your transcripts and it becomes verified. Someone must personally make sure you entered your information correctly before calculating your GPA.
