Can anyone comment on what happened with this program? I heard they stopped interviewing this past application cycle and then now they have 3 open vacancies for 2015 listed on sf match website.

I don't know specifics, but I do know that they have had quite a bit of faculty turnover in the last few years. Per their website, they only have 5 MD faculty and I know for a fact that 2 of them are part-timers with their own separate practice.

The city had 2 main ophtho groups: the residency program and a large prvt practice. They were thinking of merging but no one knew who would merge with who. The school must have merged with the group so the program closed. It was never on probation. However the fact it's back must mean the faculty came back
