Not necessarily - I've got a high PAT, and my file was put in the "No decision" category. I applied very early, too.
I used to have the misperception that UOP cares about DAT scores much more than anything else. Now from what I understand, UOP bases their decision for interviews on much more than DAT scores. The whole person, so to speak. Based on what Kathy Candito told me, to them DAT scores mean that you'll succeed in dental school, but more importantly they look at personal comments, letters of recommendation, et cetera, to get an idea of what kind of a person you are.
Kind of tough since many people come across differently on paper than in person, but that's the breaks.
