Univ. of Alabama secondary

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I haven't heard anything from U. Alabama since I submitted my AMCAS application and at this point, I don't think I'm going to hear anything. I agree; not contacting us at all is really quite rude. I'm surprised because shortly after I completed my AMCAS app., I had a problem with my e-mail address so I contacted all of my schools. The woman at U. Alabama was by far the nicest.

I filed the AMCAS in July and have never heard anything from UAB. I wish that they would at least send me a rejection letter if that is the verdict.

I have still not yet heard, either. Someone on another forum told me that Alabama does not respond to out-of-state students until it has finished with the in-state residents.

They are way behind this year for one reason or another. Last week was the first week they even interviewed anyone from out of state so maybe you will here something soon.

I have on word from Nathan Smith himself that this is the case.

Likely won't be the same next year.

I spoke with them recently over the phone, and the woman I spoke with apologized profusely. Apparently they've revamped the way they're running the admissions process this year, and it took them some time to implement the changes. From the horse's mouth, they're about 2 months behind.

Not one freakin' word since I submitted my AMCAS (and I submitted the first week). They're two months behind? Does that mean we won't hear for ANOTHER two months? Immensely inconsiderate on their part. I would think we at least deserve a mass emailing explaining the situation.

I met with some of the admin people for UAB over the summer. They "fired" some of the people in their admin dept. the month before, so I'm not surprised they are backed up. I'm out of state, but my whole family lives in Huntsville and I figured that might help. However, I haven't heard anything from them. One of my friends goes there and he said they started interviews around the beginning to middle of November. That's kind of late compared to other schools.
