So I called AMCAS to double-check if I was still holding more than one acceptance before May 15th rolls around. They said they can't give me that information. I asked for a yes/no response; I didn't need the names of any schools, but no, I don't have access to that information--which, by the way, happens to be my personal information--while all the med schools I was admitted to have it and the losers at AMCAS have it too, right in front of them on their lousy terminals. But I don't. Am I missing something, or is there something wrong with this picture? Don't we have a right to know about our own admissions status?
I wrote letters/emails to all the schools I wanted to withdraw acceptances from (some as early as Jan/Feb), but discovered a few days ago after calling each of them that a couple were still holding spots for me. I resent my requests, but just so there wouldn't be any problems post-May 15 because of some incompetent admissions staff person, I wanted to verify with AMCAS. But apparently I'm not allowed to see my own information. 👎
