i have 27(9/9/9), and 3.6 overall, and 3.5 science, any chance for M.D., im working in cali right now

Hi! I really have no idea in terms of chances, but I heard that California schools are very competitive and hard to get into, so this might not be your best bet. If your sci GPA is 3.5, that's pretty good. I mean, after all a school's "average" of 3.7 means that people are both above and below that median.

27 is also pretty good. Apply to some "low tier" MD programs with low averages and maybe a couple more competitive schools also that you are interested in. You never know... you could get accepted! 🙂 It depends on other factors as well, like motivation, experience, etc. good luck! 🙂

Retake the Mcat and maintain the GPA, try to reach for a High or Mid 30's on MCAT then apply...... Or if you want to stick with your score's and still be an MD ofcourse theire's always the Carrib MD route... (not to start a flame ware)

27 is NOT too low to apply to MD programs in the states (esp. if it was your first shot at the MCAT), as long as your gpa is good (which yours is). It may be a tough shot at some of the cali schools, but if you don't want to wait a year, go ahead and apply, but make sure you do to a variety of schools, always keeping the possibility in mind that things might not work out this year.
Good luck!:luck:

thanks for the advice

You are an AVERAGE applicant, right down to the breakdown of your MCAT scores (Assuming you are NOT a URM).

Yes, med school is definitely possible but to increase your chances I would:

1) APPLY EARLY (in June)
2) build up your resume: clinical experience and research. This will set you apart!

Good :luck:

I think your breakdown is good, and retaking MCAT is not required (ONLY if you want to go to UC schools RETAKE). But if you do take the MCAT again, think about these questions: What were your practice scores? Did you maintain that 9 on verbal always? If you did, I would really consider taking MCAT again. Because PS and BS is easy to improve.

Again taking the MCAT is not required if you follow the advice I gave you in my last post.

My mistake, the reason I implied that you should retake the Mcat is because I assumed that you were going to apply to all your state schools im sorry for that should have gave you better advice. But the other guys here have offered some really good advice, if you build up on your EC's then you prob. could hae a chance somewhere again im sorry for the earlier post, I should have given you more hope then instead kind of ignoring your chance's.....

Good Luck to you keep your head up!!! 😀

Sounds good, thanks
