Marshall University BMS (medical science area)

I did not know of this program, but I think I will apply. I saw that the deadline was Feb 1st, so I emailed iane to see if i could send mine in anyway. They make exceptions for students who were awaiting med school decisions.

what is their minimum MCAT requirement?

I heard that students who got into the program had an average of 25 MCAT score. I'm not sure about the minimum MCAT requirement.

I want to know if anyone has done this program. I want to hear their opinions
 
I am looking into this program, too. I've never heard of Marshall University before so I don't know anything about it.
 
It just occured to me that I have heard of Marshall University....b/c there is a movie about the 1970 football team "We are Marshall". I feel dumb, haha. I have not seen the movie, yet. 😳
 
Yes. There is a movie "We are Marshall" starring Matthew McConaughey.

I don't think the university itself is highly ranked on Usnews college ranking, but they have a medical school. I heard that medical science program can give an advantage to their med school matriculation.
 
Hey all I actually applied and got into the program. Prior to applying to the program I considered going as an undergrad...and ended up going to Duke. Dont ask how I learned abt the program. Anyway, my MCAT score was a 20...the min. required to get in. You also need a 3.0 GPA. When I went to the open house I was told that they are strict on the min. requirements. if u dont have the MCAT score you can send in the GRE. The admissions committee is friendly and on point. the program is small and accomodating. What is great is that its a MASTERS PROGRAM. Translation: you can get a graduate assistantship that you would not be eligible for if you were doing a certificate granting postbac program. any ques just ask me. Im weighing this and the Drexel DPMS program so my presence in marshall this fall is not a definite
 
so besides me....did any one apply? get in ?
