Dear Applicant:
The Office of Admissions has received your 2008 American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) application to the University of Minnesota Medical School - Twin Cities. Please take a moment to become familiar with our application process at http://www.meded.umn.edu/admissions/application_process.cfm. In the coming months, the Admissions Committee will review applications according to the selection criteria posted here http://www.meded.umn.edu/admissions/selection.cfm. Supplemental applications will be available to applicants in another email message. Reapplicants and international citizens must meet certain requirements before they are given access to the application. These requirements are listed here http://www.meded.umn.edu/admissions/reapplication.cfm and here http://www.meded.umn.edu/admissions/international.cfm.
As an applicant to an Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) institution, you assume certain responsibilities when it comes to the progression of the application cycle. Please visit http://www.aamc.org/students/applying/policies/applicants.htm in order to review the AAMC recommendations for medical school applicants. It is important that these recommendations, especially items three through five, be observed so as to guarantee both applicants and admission committees of an organized and timely selection process.
The Admissions staff will utilize the preferred email address (as entered on your AMCAS application) as our primary means of contacting you. Be advised that many email messages from our medical schools are sent simultaneously to multiple applicants. Some email providers (e.g. Yahoo and Hotmail) use filters to ensure that users do not receive spam or multiple-recipient emails. In some cases, these filters can prevent our messages sent to groups of applicants from getting through to you (please go to the following site http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/faq/email.htm for an explanation). Whatever preferred email and mailing address you choose must be kept up to date with AMCAS in order to maintain the integrity of the application process.
If you have any questions pertaining to your application, please visit one of the following online resources. For issues relating to the AMCAS application, please review the information at http://www.aamc.org/students/amcas/faq/. Inquiries concerning the University of Minnesota Medical School application cycle and policies should be referenced against our FAQ page at http://www.meded.umn.edu/admissions/faq.cfm. Please contact the Office of Admissions ([email protected]) with any issues that are not resolved by the aforementioned resources. The Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity welcomes applicants to contact them by telephone at (612) 626-2173 or (612) 625-1494, or email at [email protected] or [email protected].
Thank you for applying to the University of Minnesota Medical School - Twin Cities. To learn more about our institution, please visit the Medical School Education website at http://www.meded.umn.edu.
