They have a circular instead of linear genome and no histones.. so.. no?

I had wiki'd chromatin and it said it was found in prokarya in the nucleoid. This confused me. I had to edit 🙂

the answer is yes,

chromatin is a dna wound around packaging proteins. If dna weren't packaged, it would take up x10000 more volume than it does

Yep. Because chromatin is wound up DNA which only eukaryotes have.
