warning about New Jersey

In early october I was called for an interview. It made my day!! They called be back the next day to say that since I wont be completing my pre reqs until may they wont ineterview me. They only inetrview people who have completed all pre reqs. (the only pre-req I wont have completed by this semester is physics 2, which I am taking in the spring)

I wish this was mentioned somewhere (maybe on their website), I wouldnt have spent the $ on aadsas or the supplemental app.

What a stupid policy! I thought I should post this as a heads-up to others in my situation

thanks for the heads up....im applying next cycle but i havent taken physics yet so i wont have my pre reqs completed either...and at my school i can only take physics 1 in the fall and physics II in spring....crap i may have to do it in the summer...
 
good thing im in physics II now
 
will it be affected by English also?
I have taken only 4 credits of english so far and they require 6 all together.

IS there any other college having same kind of policy of completing the pre-reqs before the application?
 
If you are taking the pre-reqs in the fall it should be fine...I have an interview coming up with New Jersey soon and I am currently taking my second physics course.

...But I guess if you are applying next cycle and are planning to complete anything in the fall call just to be safe. I do realize the OP said they would not be complete until May but just be safe anyway.
 
this must be a new policy cause my friend was interviewed in oct and accepted dec 1st but hadn't taken physics yet. sorry that is a really ****ty deal!

Ask them to send that to you in writing - then forward the letter back to the school and the ADEA and ask for your money back since the pre-req. policy is not posted anywhere. That's what I would do. (well, AFTER I was accepted to another school).
 
Not really sure if thats is true? I interviewed at UMDNJ on Nov 4 and have not completed my pre requisites I am in the process of finishing Physics 1 fall and then physics 2 in the spring so check again?
 
haha...something shady is going on at UMDNJ. What a surprise!

I am in a similar situation. There is something strange going on.
 
I would call and ask them to clarify on that. Maybe their response to you was in regards to your application only (they want to see how well you do in all your prereqs before deciding on YOU). I don't know of any school that requires you to finish all your prerequisites before applying. Otherwise, that pretty much eliminates ALL of the people who made career changes and switched into dentistry.
 
that's really strange. i got an interview from them in early oct, and didn't finish physics 2 yet until spring.....

I am calling tomorrow morning to find out what is going on. The caller and I spoke for quite a while, she was very clear in saying this was their policy with all students, even went on to say that based on my app, she was looking forward to interviewing me and that if I dont get in anywhere this cycle for whatever reason, to call her next cycle for an interview.

This is so weird!!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
