Do not stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Conshohocken close to the testing center! It is directly on the train tracks! The non-soundproofed rooms that they offer the students are so close that you could throw a stone and hit the trains! I specifically asked for a quiet room so that I could be well-rested, but instead got a room which was so loud that it was impossible to sleep until after midnight when the trains finally stopped. (they start again at 6). Stay at the Comfort Inn by the King of Prussia mall instead. It's quiet, they give you breakfast, and the cost is still much less, even when you add on the taxi fare to the testing center.

Personally I think all Marriotts are crap.

I was pretty close to the train tracks too but it did not keep me awake (I didn't hear it more than twice from my room during my 2 night stay). The rooms are incredibly large with a living room, kitchen and seperate bathroom. Also includes breakfast and dinner (neither anything to write home about, but still very convenient) and 24 hour computers with internet access to waste time on SDN. And the 5 minute walk to the testing center was nice too. I'd stay there again.

Hhhmmmm I stayed there and thought it was great. Free food in teh evenings and at breakfast. I was on the side and didnt get bothered by any trains. I do have an inoizer in my room that makes a white noise sound so that might be why i didnt hear anything. But for the location, you cant beat it. Sorry you had a bad night there.

take the afternoon test and it won't matter what time you fall asleep. The afternoon test does not start until 2:00 and you can "sleep in" if you want.
I also thought the staff at the afternoon session were more laid back from what I heard from my classmates....

Actually that is also what I found about the afternoon crew. In fact our tester guys made the comment that we were with the good testers and not the "nazi" ones from in the morning. He then said sorry that he wasnt sounding very politically correct. But I would also recommend teh afternoon and sleeping in! Good luck to you all.

I heard the same thing from my classmate! But my morning session testers weren't too nazi... are we talking about the patients or the administrators? I recommend taking the morning session and getting the F out of Conshohoken since you can catch a flight out that same day ... I was at the airport at 6pm.

Me 2. It's easily doable. Oh, and I vote for the Courtyard being an okay experience. It sounds like some people get screwed with a bad room and some don't. I'm a super light sleeper and didn't get bothered. I guess I got lucky.

Good to know since I wouldn't want to throw $1045 down the drain due to a bad night's sleep.

Learn to think without sleep.....Lord knows internship is looming around the corner!!

HA! Love where your head's at. I want everyone to get some solid sack time before the PE but if you didn't, take BMW19's advice and think of it as an early sleep-deprived call night.

I stayed at the Mariott and didn't have any problems. I slept fine even though I'm a light sleeper, but I had brought earplugs just in case I did. I had the afternoon test and everything went fine. Besides, I wanted to be as close as possible to the testing center just in case of car problems, etc.

Well, they gave me my money back after I complained, and I passed the PE, so I'm not angry anymore. I guess the rooms that don't directly face the railroad tracks are quieter...but I was not in one of those and I'm not sure how you could guarantee that you would get one. (since writing "I'm a light sleeper and need a quiet room" when I booked the room didn't seem to do anything for me.) If it weren't for the noise, the room would have been great. It was close by the center, and they had breakfast, and the room was honestly much more than I needed in every way except one.
