I published a paper and listed it on ERAS with the citation. Should I also list this same paper/project as one of my 'research experiences?' What would I write in the discription?
The same question goes for a case report that I have 'submitted for publication'. Should I list this as a reseach experience?
I have 2 "research experiences" (ie - I worked in 2 different labs: (1) college & (2) employment after college).
Personally, what I did was list 2 research experiences (1 for each lab), listed my mentor, location, general description of the field of inquiry (if your research mentor has "summary blurb" on a webpage look at that to get an idea of a "generic" project description) & types of responsibilities I had there, types of techniques used / skills developed, etc. I also listed attendance at scientific meetings with the associated lab description. (I'm sure that's overkill - but hey, I wanted to get it in somewhere!) I did not explicitly mention my papers/presentations there. (I suppose if I had had enough space I could have added "Multiple Presentations and Publications - see 'Publications' Section", or even just "See also Publications Section") But I didn't have enough space for any of that.
The publications themselves go in the publication section. In my case I think it's fairly obvious which publications go with which "experience" (lab) (ie - you can figure this out based on publication title, authors [remember, you list your supervisor in the "research experience section"] and the
type of research I'd described in the "experience" section)
I think it would look a little wierd to list the actual
publication twice. (ie - to list it once under "publications" and then again paste the exact same info into the "research experience" section would be wierd.)
