I just called them n they said decision is not made about mine yet,,im dieing here cant wait anymore !!!! r u in State ??

I am still waiting. My interview was on Nov. 18.

Iowa baby!!! I was up until 1 refreshing my isis and it still said "in progress". Then, I went to bed and woke up at 3 to check it and it said "admitted"!

Mine was on Oct 28th which was my Birthday too 🙂. Im goin crazy, ive been waiting for this day for 5 years n now i hv to wait more !!!!! i cant even focus on my MPH program now n my finals are comin soon,,,

Im an International student by the way but I finished my BA with Biology from University of Iowa and im doin my MHP degree here 2,

May b because of my status as an International my situation got delayed i dont know !!!

I called and Elaine said that they sent the letters out today and "offer made" should mean you are in and $500 dollars due to hold your seat after letter is received.

Also, does anyone know when classes start at Iowa for first year? I have a wedding to go to in Aug. just curious if anyone knows?

Glad to join you all. I am Iowa resident and had a September 25th interview. Glad to see many of you from that group made it in.

Not sure who was wondering this but i saw it posted earlier. I am deferred admit and just noticed that my ISIS says admitted! AADSAS says offer made. I interviewed on November 18th. I'll join the facebook group right now, looking forward to meeting you all. Congrats and see you next fall!

Iowafan- I am in state and had my interview on Nov. 5th. Sorry, I didn't see your first post asking what the status was of those who got in. I am not part of the deferred admit program either.
 
Guys im goin crazy over here, there is no time-line for when we gonna be notified about any status updates and iv been checkin ISIS each day 1000000 times !!!! im very frustrated this is the only interview i got in 3 years of applying in the US after leaving my 3rd of dental school in Iraq in 2004 due to the war situation and starting all over here. Ive been waiting for Dec 1st for 4 years and now I have to wait more !!! Sorry just wanted to vent, been studying since 2 am n im bored.

Any updates buddy on your status ?? hopefully we ll get accepted in the same time
 
Talib, isn't the next acceptance date Dec. 15?? Or is it totally random? It's still SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO early in the game buddy
 
if anyone waiting on acceptance lets their anxiety get the best of them and calls the admissions office, please post what you hear.
 
Talked to Elaine in admissions. She said that there's no specific timeline. They've sent out acceptances to 2/3 of the class in each category (in state/out of state). They were going to meet again tomorrow, but the weather is probably not going to cooperate. Suppose we'll just have to wait until people turn down their spots for other school. They'll keep accepting people through January. What a wait!

2/3 is more than I thought/hoped. Is Elaine thinking they'll keep sending acceptances all the way until the end of January?

Hey guys,

The weather is very bad today, we have like 20 inches of snow (im exaggerating) but i dont think classes will get canceled tomorrow. Although i hope so because i have a paper and presentation at 3 !!

last year or the one before they accepted 54 instate and 26 out of state and internationals. So if they already accepted 2/3 that means they hv around 55 already in leaving 25. I heard that they interviewed 220 and they will accept 110 for 80 spots only. I dont know whether the extra 30 is for overacceptance since some students will turn down their offer or for the waitlisted.

Our chances is increasing than the original 50% (which we got the minute we got the interview) as students getting rejected. I wish that we know their numbers better to see where we at now.

Good luck to all, post something if u can calculate their numbers since my brain has been functioning for the last 24 hrs n i cant think straight anymore lool
 
These numbers prob changed over the years. I know someone who unfortunately got rejected after the interview. The weird thing no one from the second accepted group posted anything here so I do not know if that happened for sure. if its true, then Im competing with the rest of out of state on the last 5 seats more or less 🙂.

this is my 3rd night pulling all nighter and im very stressed bc of waiting, hope they ll let us know soon.
 
At first the numbers were painful. According to the info that was passed out at the interview, last year 57 in-state applicants were accepted. Two-thirds would be 38; leaving 19 in-state spots. As of Dec 1, probably around 80% of the in-state interviews had taken place accepting 67% of the in-state class. That means that there is a good chance that a few people who had interviews prior to Dec 1 will still get accepted.
Did another round get accepted for sure? I really hope not for all of our sakes. You would think that the people that care the most are on here talking about it (us). Maybe that should count for something?! I am guessing that if a second round hasn't taken place it will happen within the next week. Although, before finals would be fine with me.
Oh ya, I was wondering who all has been checking ISIS?
 
If anybody breaks down and calls Elaine, please post what you find out. Fortunately for us she's really nice.
 
No updates i guess. I have been checking ISIS 100000 times a day hoping to get the good news. Elaine is a very nice lady, I talked with her on Dec 1st and she told me that there is no time-line anymore. I believe that the last interview date is tomorrow so they might accept more students on Monday/Tuesday. I am hoping that we will know before the break otherwise we will probably have to wait till January !!!
 
Has anyone been accepted to Iowa after Dec. 1st? I'm beginning to think they're just going to wait to make more acceptances until after students make their deposits on Jan. 15th.
 
I was accepted on December 9th--when I talked with Elaine on December 1st she said that more acceptances will be made when the committee finds time to meet up.

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted and good luck to those of you waiting to hear!
