I was just wondering what the age distribution is for pharmacy applicants here on SDN ...

edit: btw, its an anonymous poll for all you shy people out there.

24 😀 From what I hear, the average age of the entering class for most of the schools I applied to was in the 23-25 range.

Dang, I should have made this poll more extensive with age + retail/clinical/research aims... getting more curious. If I had to guess, probably most are aiming for retail pharmacy(?)

39 and when I start I will be the big 40 but I look 21...LOL...no actually I look about 29, no one can believe I am about to turn 40, I credit my genes

KMIMS, I am in the same boat you are! I'm 22 but older people always think I'm fresh out of high school (or still in it). I cut my hair so I'd look a little older at least.

look on the bright side. at least you can be a cougar and not look it.

23... the last time I went to a movie I got carded, looking down this list I see a trend I guess we're all going to be young looking pharmacists! 😉

25 but people always think I'm a teenager. People look at me in disbelief when I tell them I'm a mom! 😱
Probably retail (I know, it's BS) but it seems like retail offers the most flexibility in work schedule, at least in my area because they are so short on pharmacists.

PharmerJones-me and you have a lot in common

I am 24 and hopefully 25 when I start pharmacy school (June birthday).
I look really young as well and I have a 3 year old son. I joined the military when I was 17, so that made me mature really fast!

Hi! I'm actually 29 right now and will probably celebrate my 30th birthday during the first week of pharmacy school in August (if I am accepted this cycle)! No one ever believes me when I say that I have 3 beautiful daughters aged 13, 2 1/2, and 1, because they say I look too young to have 3 children. 19 is the guess I usually get, and I say thanks! =) I also have one more baby girl on the way, due in June! I currently work as a tech in the busiest Walgreens in the East Bay Area and it so far has not deterred me from wanting to do retail... However, I'm hoping that during rotations I'll be able to fall in love with another aspect of pharmacy and pursue whatever my heart desires then! Good luck to us all! 😛

bumping this for the person who said he was too old and mentally inflexible at age 21...

I'll be 32 when I start pharmacy school this fall. I'm married, no kids, and am certainly no pre-med dropout...I'm a recovering bench researcher. Publications and lab audits just didn't cut it anymore for me.
