Just saw my AADSAS status updated to "offer made" and received a phone call from Dr. Naty Lopez at 8:03am CST! This was my number one choice and I will definitely be attending next fall, who will I see there?!😀
 
I do see my status has changed to "offer made"
but I didn't get any phone call.
 
Perhaps they are calling applicants in alphabetical order. My last name starts with a C, so I may have been early in the process.

My last name starts with a B and I didn't get a phone call. However, I did just get an email from the admissions office that I have been accepted!! AADSAS was just changed to Offer Made. No phone call from Dr. Lopez.

No!!! I recieved a phone call first, and email 30 minutes later. It doesn't seem like they have much rhyme or reason as to how they officially contact people... stay positive and get hyped!

Yeah, I do. I decided not to call them on the off chance that I might piss someone off. I really hope it's not a mistake :scared:
 
I'm in the middle of the alphabet, but have not received a call or email yet. I'm in class right now, but my phone is right by my side... just in case. I really hope my "offer made" is not a mistake!
 
I got offer made on AADSAS and no phone call yet or email.

I really enjoyed my experience at Minnesota, but I got into my 1st choice UF (my state school) so I will be staying in FL. Best of luck to everyone, U of M is a great place!

I feel about 95% sure that offer made = acceptance. :scared:

Maybe some people (with offer made) get calls and/or emails. But the final deciding factor will be that letter that comes in the mail.

An email/phone call would be so reassuring right now, though.

GOT THE UMN EMAIL! :soexcited:

It's "provisional acceptance". Official acceptance occurs after final transcripts, deposit, etc. are submitted.

I got into Minnesota this morning as well... but, I also got into my number 1 choice which was Maryland... my seat will be opening up for someone who is waiting for MN.

CONGRATS AGAIN EVERYONE! WE MADE IT!!! :soexcited:
 
Add another classmate everyone. I first noticed the offer made on AADSAS. Then at 8:03 I recieved an e-mail of acceptance. I look forward to meeting you all. GO GOPHERS!?! WOW

Got the acceptance email just now! I'm still hoping on getting an interview at my state school (UW) for financial reasons but would still be very happy at Minnesota. Congrats everybody!
 
I just got in too!! Congrats everyone!!!

Someone who's going to MN for sure should create a Facebook group! I will most likely be attending if I don't hear from other schools post-Dec!
 
I got the e-mail and AADSAS update too! So excited! Number one choice 🙂Never have actually posted on here but have creeped it for the last few months and definitely was tweaking about the "blank" drama with you guys. Yay, finally!
 
So excited to be accepted at UMN! I'll be making a tough decision between here and colorado....I was so excited to see that blank turn into offer made this morning! Congrats to you all...we earned this!

So I may just be *****ed, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make a facebook group :laugh: Anybody else care to get on this? Or give me some instructions?

Go to your home page and on the left hand side it should say create group...it probably won't work unless you add one of your friends to the group...no worries, it took me forever to figure this out earlier🙂
 
I figured I was doing it wrong because it kept telling me I needed to add a friend. Without DAT scores, LOR's, transcripts... how am I going to know which one to add to our class?!

So, how about you create the group, ask a friend if you can add them into the group so that the group may be created, make the group "open," and then post a link here so the rest of us can join. 🙂
 
Ah geez, FB groups are so different compared to what it was back in the days... hahaha. I guess I didn't fully understand the "open" or "closed" concept as it had changed.

Anywho... congrats to all of us! 🙂
 
Ditto. I was hoping "open" meant people could just freely join.

In any case hopefully it will be a good way for us to get to know our new classmates!

does anyone know if we're going to have to resubmit LORs? Seems that way according to the acceptance email.
 
Just a few quick questions! from a Canadian...

I live just 6 hours from minneapolis, and have concidered this school. But is it very Canadian friendly? or do they tend to stick to in americans. Also, does any one have a recommendation of the approximate shadowing and volunteering hours that would be needed for a decent application?

I'm waiting until I get the hard copy of the acceptance letter in the mail to call and ask about this. At some point during the cycle, I called Minnesota to see if they received all of my application materials (including LORs), and they confirmed they did. To my knowledge they should already have copies of our LORS. Requiring us to either get AADSAS to send additional copies, or getting the copies sent from the original writers seems to be a lot of trouble that could be avoided.

Hey all, I got accepted into both marquette and the u of m and i'm trying to make a decision. I love both schools and would be happy going to either.

I was just wondering...in your opinion why is minnesota's dental school better?

I just took out my interview package and i just want to make sure these are the correct costs

As an OOS, tuition is $68,028(this is about $18000 higher than 3 years ago! according to ADEA guide), books and supplies for 3 sem is $11,589 and living cost+ transportation is $18,894.

The total cost/year is: 98511 as an out of state student!!!

Do you become in state after your first year?

Those numbers seem to be slightly off. According to the fee schedule listed on Minnesota's website, 1st year tuition - $47,478 and 2nd, 3rd & 4th year tuition - $60,172. This puts the total cost/year for OOS students at a slightly lower $71,212 - $85,975 depending on the year.

Right, first year there's no summer term, that's why it's cheaper. I went to the website where you got these numbers from, and i find it odd that they gave us different numbers at our interview. Check the blue sheet that they gave us... it's about $8k higher. My friend who attends UMN said every year the tuition is hiking, so i think that might account for the discrepancy. Though.... 8k/year is a steep hike lol.

No, OOS can't get IS after 1 year
 
I am going to e-mail the admissions office about it. An increase of $8k in tuition is a lot for OOS. Notice that the living/transportation cost is $6.5k more ($12362 on website vs $18894 on blue sheet). The total increase in cost of attendance would be around $14k.
