My NS practice test scores are all over.
Topscore: I averaged 17 or so
Kaplan Blue book: 18
Acheiver: around 16 or so
2007 ada DAT: 27
2009 ada DAT: 21 (might've gotten a 22 had it not been for all the mistakes)

I have no idea what score I will get. Any opinions?

When you say NS, do you mean non-science? And by extension, does that mean RC?

When I say NS, I mean Natural Science which is Bio, Gchem and OChem. I've basically given up on getting anythign higher than a 21 on the Bio section. So much random crap, and with only 1 semester of bio it'll be hard to compete with the Bio majors out there.

Anyways, My ADA DAT scores haven't been too bad, but other stuff have been bad.

The actual ADA tests are better indication right?

Heh, well, bio really is a hard one to do exceedingly well in, even for most of the bio majors, so don't compare yourself to them. A 21 in bio by the way, is a great score.

So far I've only taken the free ADA and KBB, with a "NS" score of 23, and 19. Your achiever scores seem pretty typical, I wouldn't worry about those. I don't know about Topscore, though I've heard it's fairly realistic to the real DAT. Your ADA scores look good (and one can only assume they are the best indicator, though this is not a guarantee). What I think you you should do is just really focus on what you're weak in now, why were your TS scores lower? Did you destroy the ochem sections on all the tests, which section was your lowest overall?

I think you're in pretty good shape, you just need to work on your weak areas, which you definitely should have been able to identify after all those practice tests.

From what I've seen in SDN (and me being a prime example as well)... there is no correlation between practice tests and actual DAT.... These practice tests will only train you to sit down and take a 5 hour test, thats it (well, also the problems you missed, they are pretty good review)....

I took one of those Barron tests that came with the Barron DAT book (the CD tests).... I think I got a 17 (or was it 16 AA), it was pretty demoralizing, I never took another practice test again.

I did do topscore, but not like a timed test, I just did it the same way I did destroyer, do 1 problem, then look over solution to see if its done correctly.

If you look around this DAT forum long enough, you'll see MANY posts of people scoring much lower on the practice tests than they did on the actual exam.

My ADA scores were horrendous. Never got over 15 in Ochem. 18 on Gchem, 16-7 on Bio. It's just an exam designed to demoralize you really.

My sciences scores on the actual exam was 27G, 24B, 22O.

Even the 2007 free dat on the ada site? I did really really well on that one, but that's the only one I did well on.

The ADA sample exams are a joke... very poor study material because its too easy. Its probably the closest in terms of difficulty to the real ADA, but the problems in them are too commonly seen. Achiever and Topscore are much better study material because they give you exposure to questions that aren't so common-sense-ish even if you don't score nearly as well on them. Remember... not "nearly as well" many times only amounts to a small difference of like 2-4 questions.

Just wanted to update you on how I'm doing as well, in case it makes you feel any better 🙂

Finished 1st Topscore, got 18/18/18 across the sciences, though I think the ochem section was a load of BS, there must have been 5 problems on carbs/proteins, which I highly doubt is representative of the actual exam. I have to admit though, it makes me paranoid about that section of ochem, even though it isn't even mentioned as testable material in the DAT guide.

This is better. So it gave you 5 problems on carbs/proteins which if you got wrong you can now figure out why you got them wrong and know that you will get it right if it does show up on the exam. This is much better than the ADA practice exams which are too easy.
