Ill go straight to the question b/c im using phone to type.
Gen chem 163: a student wanted to measure exactly 12.3ml of the 0.20M naoh soln. Which should she use?
Answer: buret
org chem 168: an org chemist wanted to deliver 15.6ml of a liquid in an exp. Which should she employ?
Answer: pipet.
I believe they are different on part that gen chem 163 is (1) a Soln (2) odd volume and therefore use buret. Right? On the other hand, org chem 168 is basically liquid so you just use a pipet. Is this the reason? Also, i know that buret is used for titration, so u dont have to explain that part.
Sorry for short handed, hard to type on phone. Thanks all

Those are the key words. When measuring out an exact* amount, you use a buret. The pipet is portable and is used to transfer OR deliver liquids.
