Please look at my MDApplicants page for my stats.

🙄

Anyway, Ohio will make you sign away 5 years of your life before they look at your secondary app.. Unless you are from Ohio.

LECOM has quite a few rules that many people, myself include, dislike enough to not even apply. Those rules are talked about in a thread on the first page called something like "Dress Code".

My bad about the MDApplicant thing. I am an Ohio resident.

I think you are in good shape. You should get some invites to at least a few schools. But, since you asked us to critique your school list. . .are you sure you want to pay the extremely expensive OOS tuition to go to MSU? That is the only problem I see with your list besides showing no love for KCOM. Come on, now! 🙁

By the way, I applaud you for taking the path to becoming a doctor and not a NP.

Your stats are about average for DO Matriculants, and assuming you have the pre-reqs (DO LOR for some schools and Biochem for some schools) I think you have a chance at any of the DO schools except maybe the OOS unfriendly ones like UMDNJ-COM. Also MSU OOS tuition is like $83k.

Apply to schools you can see yourself at, I don't think your stats are going to limit you much if at all especially with all your ECs and nursing experience.

Is UMDNJ really oos unfriendly ? Which other ones are like this? I've heard Western, New England fit thus category but not sure on which other ones.

Show PCOM some love! Why are you applying to RVU- just curious?

That's what I was told.

Yea I know the Western's have a regional bias, they may not explicitly say it online, but the Dean himself mentioned it. Not sure if it's worth wasting $$ over since you are applying both MD and DO, but hey it's worth a shot if you got it.

Are you from Michigan? If not, I wouldn't apply to MSU-COM unless you come from a very wealthy family or are on a scholarship. I know some people will say that the price you pay for school will not matter much in the long run but $79,000/year on tuition alone is outrageous.

I would add PCOM to the list.

Also, it would help us to determine which schools would be a good fit if you could mention how important location, PBL vs didactic, class size, dissection vs prosection vs no anatomy lab, etc. are to you.

Take off Michigan unless you're willing to pay 80k. WesternU-Lebanon will probably be a waste coming from the other coast. Other than that, apply away. UMDNJ-SOM takes a lot of in-state, so don't worry about it. Having such a high sGPA and an upward trend are exactly what the hollistic approach in admissions looks for.

gogo western regional bias!

i live 10 minutes away how much more regional can you get? 👍

Critique my list.

It lacks color and the font sucks. Why no bullet points?

On a serious note if you're going with a western bias, why the floridian schools?

Here are my reason for considering Florida schools:
  • I lived there for the majority of my life
  • My folks still live down there
  • My friends still live down there

Add KCUMB and DMU.

I don't think I'll be able to squeeze in biochemistry before next year. I'll have to work even more to pay for primaries, secondaries, deposits (hopefully), and moving costs.

I had to eliminate some schools that I'd like to apply to because I won't have the pre-reqs done.

Does PCOM-GA have a regional bias? If it does can we assume it to be the south.

You're right up DCOM's alley. Competitive MCAT, solid Science GPA, non-traditional with clinical experience and community volunteer experience. 👍
