Pretty much the title. I've got one A and a few interviews and was wondering which would be the best. I appreciate the advice.
Stats: 3.3 sgpa
Mcat:501
I got an A at msom
Interviews: ocom ,bcom, kansascom

Until something else happens, go to the school that accepted you.
agreed.

but just to humor you:
kansascom: just withdraw now. makes no sense if you already have an A. they've been a disaster so far.
ocom: also new, so personally would choose msom over them due to meritus health partnership and florida being crowded af with med schools and rotation sites
bcom: most established on this list, but also for profit and most expensive.

im sticking with msom. seems to be a solid foundation for a new school, but you will be first class so be prepared for that.

I've already lost track of these new schools. Is Meritus the one in Buffalo? Where's that the Memphis school?

And what's going on with Kansas COM?????

You can read comments from current students starting about Here
Low COMLEX pass rate & the subsequent efforts at changing that

From what I read, the comments are on par for a brand new DO school.

From what I can tease out between the lines, and I've certainly seen this before even at my school, is that the clinical faculty maybe teaching to the level of residence and not to what a third year medical student needs to know.

The high attrition rate is definitely not a surprise. Brand new schools will admit people who are not capable of handling medical school, and I doubt that they have the infrastructure to help said students.

meritus is in maryland

the memphis school is BUCOM, private not-for-profit under Baptist Health Sciences University with affiliated rotations and residencies within baptist memorial. not to be confused with BCOM which is a for-profit with campuses in NM and FL

Ahhh, another hospital with a med school attached!

NYITCOM-AR and WCUCOM already rotate within a few of the 22 Baptist Memorial hospitals. i believe 25 students per year from NYIT (can apply to any of the 22) and i believe WCUCOM uses 1 Baptist hospital in MS. Now Baptist Memorial has an affiliated medical school with priority for their students. Considering they're not only clinically involved, but heavily financially and infrastructurally involved as well, tells me they're committed to BUCOM.

VCOM is using the same playbook in Vero Beach, FL. A couple of years ago, third and fourth-year medical students from VCOM started receiving training at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. Next, they will establish a clinical campus next to the hospital and follow that with a VCOM medical educational campus (DO granting medical school).

it's great that they're establishing a hospital-linked school, but ANOTHER VCOM location? geez.
