They read books, powerpoint slides, and ask questions. What's stopping you or anyone else to read the same material and ask the dentist about the questions you have before they train you? For example, if you go on youtube and look at a video of infiltration and read malamed's about the procedure, you are just as "well-trained" as a dental student before they start their clinical practice.
