Which Private Loan Did You Get?
Hi everyone! After discussion with my school's financial aid I have accepted that I will need to apply for private loans (institutional scholarships will not be enough to cover the gap between tuition/living expenses and the federal loan amount). Thankfully, I was able to use need-based...- Adedoyinpi

How Much Private Loans To Take Out?
Hello, I will most likely be attending a US medical school this year whose tuition is just over 70,000 a year. The total COA is around 106K. It will start after the BBB goes into effect, which practically means for me that I can take up to 50,000 a year in private loans and will have to take...- Firing Neuron

Budgeting Tool for Medical School (loan planning, monthly budget, PSLF, repayment scenarios)
There seem to be few customizable budgeting tools out there to help incoming MS1s create and manage their budget, borrowing needs and repayment options. The following was created by Juno, alongside SDN, for sharing broadly and covers all of the above, including repayment and forgiveness (PSLF)...- JunoJason

Are private student loans easily obtainable for medical school even if you have debt (unsubsidized, subsidized, & private) from undergrad school?
Or does that debt hinder the chances of getting approved for private student loans for medical school? I just want to know before I get a bachelor's degree and spend all this time and energy getting into medical school, and then can't even afford it. I know I can automatically get subsidized...- LaDiDa111

Deferring undergrad loans for an MD/MPH
Hi SDNers, So ideally, I'd like to do an MD/MPH program. From what I've heard, these typically take 5 years to complete. Upon graduation, I'll be in ~$50+ worth of debt (85% private, 15% fed). I'd like to defer repayment during med school but given my private lender limits in-school deferment...- Gcuvier
