Here is the breakdown of my DAT:

PA: 22 (93.4%)
QR: 24 (99.0%)
RC: 22 (84.4%)
Bio: 22 (95.9%)
GC: 26 (98.8%)
OC: 23 (94.4%)
TS: 23 (97.8%)
AA: 23 (98.7%)

I wanna thank you here on SDN, I have been reviewing all those threads in the past 3 months!!!! I wanna specially thank the guy who wrote the techniques to PAT section!

Here is how I studied:

Bio: I started to read Cliff AP since May but stopped after 2 weeks, I was taking Princeton Review MCAT at the same time so that pretty much covered Bio. But I did practice DAT destroyer Bio and I think it's helpful.

Gchem: I am always good at gchem, but destroyer just broke my heart, everytime i did 30 questions i got at least 10 wrong. But the real DAT was not even a fraction of that difficulty level 😛 I finished science section in like an hour

Ochem: I sucked at Ochem considering I took both Ochem in the summer 2 yrs ago. However, I practiced destroyer and got 15 wrong out of 30 almost everytime but I think DAT is much easier too!!!! Don't freak out even if you did bad on destroyer even close to the test date!!!! Kaplan blue book was what i used and destroyer

PAT: I wanna thank Sama951 who wrote this terrific thread in the past http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=528643 which raised my Crack Dat PAT score from 17 to 23 in two weeks, of course I practiced everyday! But it does help! Just be confident guys!!!!! Trust yourself you can do it!!!!

QR: I am always good at math so I didn't practice any but i would recommend to know the English measure system!!!!!

RC: My passages were pretty st8 forward, what I did was just read passages and wrote down "interesting" words of each passage. and follow the road map when i look at the question, it's pretty fast!

This test took me about 2 and a half month to prepare, and I spent about 6 hours a day. I saw many threads that people study 10+ hours a day, I can't, i got serious headache after i did that couple times. I sacrificed my Lady Gaga concert in Dallas which I had the ticket but didn't go 🙁

My undergrad science GPA is 3.7 and Overall it's a little over 3.6.

I am applying to NOVA, Florida State, UT-Houston, Baylor, UT san antonio, Boston, and Tufts. I think I am going to add UCSF now, anyone wants to go to UCSF or NOVA?!

Guys! Keep up the good work! DOn't stress out too much, when you prepare the test, let's concentrate on getting it right!!!! I will be happy to answer any other questions!

Congratulations!! Those are great 👍

What were you scoring in practice tests? And which ones did you use?

awesoooooooome scores. I have a couple MCAT bio books ( BR and kaplan). you think going over those will help me for the bio section? I'm afraid of Bio since everyone here says it's very random
thanks in advance

Those are my scores:

Topscore 2:

Bio: 17
Gchem:18
Ochem:18
RC:22
QR:22
PAT:21

Achiver 1:
Bio: 19
Gchem: 19
Ochem: 19
RC: 18
QR: 26
PAT 16

I did finish achiver 2 and topscore 1 but I lost my scores because I reinstalled my computer. And I took my first diag in end of June, the last in end of July. Let me know if you have any other question 😛

Hi! To be honest, I don't think those books would help after I took the DAT, the MCAT material is way too deep and analytical, it's going to freak you out. DAT bio is really not into depth. I would recommend to go over Campbell if you have about 2 month, and practice destroyer bio at the same time. Pay special attention to reproductive/development bio!!!

Let me know if you have more questions!

You know what freaks me out. memorizing 1300+ pages of a textbook that if it fell off a shelf would cave your skull in. That along with mastering all the other subjects in 2 months.

guess what? we all have been there! when u study, you might think like that in first couple weeks, but trust me, just stick to it, then this thought won't bother u anymore. you don't have to memorize the text book, make flash cards for those concepts you are not familiar with and PRACTICE! If it were so easy, nobody wants to work as a dentist anyway! you will do just fine ! just study, eat, exercise, and sleep!

was your ochem and gchem more conceptual or problem based?

like for ochem was it mostly reactions and you had to know what was the product?

and gchem?

and congrats on the score..

As far as I remembered, it's more problem solving. There were a couple lab questions in both

Hey, when you get used to it, you can read 200 pages of that skull crushing book a day.. You can finish reviewing it in a week or so.

sexychic: thanks for the advice
I have campbell and i'm going over it now. It's soooooo much stuff and i'm not the type who likes to memorize things 🙁
