Hello guys,
Bio - 17 FRAPPED! there were some reallyy wierd questions...like everyone says...i could have done better...not too happy
GC - 19 I thought i did a LOT better than a 19...i dont know what happend here.
OC - 20 I thought i did better in GC than in OC...but once again...not complaining.
PA - 16 :scared: WTF! I really dont know what happend here...going into the break i felt like i did REALLY well on PAT...i finished like 10 mins early and only marked about 5-6 questions. is there ANY possibility this could be a mistake on their part?! because i am veryyy suspicious...i took CDP yday and got a 22 on it!!! theres no way i could have gotten a 16!!
RC - 20 Guys...ethics passage was really reallly not bad as everyone says...call me crazy but i personally liked it the best out of all 3!
QR - 19...im really good at math...i should have done better...but there were some tricky questions but i take the blame for this one.
TS - 19
AA - 19

I have a 3.5 overall and 3.4 science GPA...but it will go up slightly before I apply (planning in June). I know im gonna hafta take the WHOLE damn thing over again because of PAT...UGHH! i really hope is some kind of mistake! My question is...does anyone know how long you need to wait before you can retake it again? Also...do schools look at your latest, highest or yor average scores?! Thanks guys for all the help!!

at least you can take a break for a while before you start studying again if you decide you must retake. Your scores arent the highest ever posted on here but at the same time they are certainly not the lowest. congrats on being done for now ... there is nothing wrong with taking the DAT more than once ... just use your experience and learn from it so next time you can really nail it. Best of luck to you and let me know if you have any question as ive taking the DAT twice.

those are great scores, but you just need to bring up that pat and bio a tad and you will be golden!

also i meant to ask what method you used for the RC? 20 is a great score being as people consider that one of the "hardest"

i guess i sorta used a combination of search and destroy and part of what kaplan tells u to do. but for ethics...theres a LOT of paragraphs...but they are all really small...like 1 or 2 sentences. so what i did was quickly skim the entire passage and jot down the main point of each para...and then go 2 the the questions and see what its asking for and then find the answer. most of the questions are straightforward...barely any inferences. gluck! im prolly gonna hafta retake! UGHH!! im soo frustrated 🙁

You can retake the exam in 3 months. Schools look at your latest scores.

Best of luck.

Schools look at your latest scores.

Not true, wait for Doc Toothache to post his tables with statistics on each school and how they conside your scores. Or do a search and find an old post but each school counts things differently.

Schools don't really look at PAT scores. I know people who got in with a 15 in that section. I don't think you need to retake them. Just apply with this and you will definitely get in somewhere. If you want to get into one of the top schools than you should retake them or do something that would increase your GPA. For e.g this is my third year in college and I will graduate this May with 3.6 overall and 3.5 major. I've been studying for DAT for the past month and am going to take it on May 4th for 2010 school year. Since my GPA is not the best and I don't know what I will get on DAT, I applied and got into a graduate program in Molecular Biology for a year. This will significantly improve my chances of getting in. So if anyone is in my situation, this is the best option and the best way to utilize your spare year.

3.6 GPA is above average for dental school matriculants. You really do not need to go to graduate school (unless you really want to). Just do reasonably well on the DAT (19-20) and you'll be set.

khak...when you say i will get in SOMEWHERE...what does that mean? I don't mind goin to a private school....just dont wanna go to somewhere in the middle of alabama or nebraska or smthn (no offence to ppl living in these areas...just personal preferences!). do you think these scores would be good enough for say USC, NYU, BU, UOP?!

UOP probably not no offense because they focus alot on the DAT,
and you can have a lower than avg GPA
