1,3,5,7 cyclohexene not aromatic?

can someone explain to me why this particular molecule is not aromatic.. i was thinking it was antiaromatic ..

its cycloHEXENE....only 6 carbons...how can there be a 7??

OMG. im so f*ing out of it.. my exam is wed and ive slept literally 3 hours last night. things are a blur and im not making any sense whatsoever...

ok, what i meant was an an 8 sided right with conjugation.. so 1,3,5,7 cyclooctene if that even makes any sense...

I don't think 1,3,5,7 cyclooctene is a planar molecule.

Look up Hückel's rule.

according to huckels rule an aromatic compd should posses (4n+2) pi electrons, where n is an integer. cylooctateraene ( where the double bonds are at 1, 3, 5, 7) have 8 pi-bonding electrons, 2 in each double bond. thus when (4n+2)=8 , n is not an integer. thus, cylooctateraene, is non-aromatic.😉

i believe b/c its not planar

1,3,5,7 cyclooctane is not planar. it actually twists a little into the boat conformation because of those rigid double bonds.
