1/3 fold help please!
Started by KN19
Look for line of symmetry, we know the first fold does not affect anything at all for any holes. The last step, if you open it, you will get a hole above the two bottom holes. After that, you use the line of symmetry rule to work it. It is best to work backwards for hole punching.

This question is from the pat section of DATqvault, yea I just realized the folds on this problem are going into the paper ( I think ) maybe that threw me off, I sort of get how its E now. I think this is just a weird problem lol, thanks for all the help guys!
ya thats what i was supposed to say. none of them looked right.
Where is this problem from? The folds are messed up, ljke they were folded away from you instead of toward you...
I agree. This problem is set up as if folds can be done away from you (into the screen), which is completely wrong. One of the hole punching rules is that a folds are always done toward you (out of the screen).
Yea, you guys are all right. This problem is bogus. On CDP I always get 14-15 of the hole punches right, but this one is just wrong. As far as DATQVault is, I think the sciences are pretty on point ( especially the biology) so it should be good practice.

How common are actual 1/3 folds on the test? Is there an easier technique to doing these?

I didn't have one. Most seem to have a couple.
I still used LOS on them IIRC...but that seems like years ago now.I didn't have one. Most seem to have a couple.I still used LOS on them IIRC...but that seems like years ago now.
Is LOS that technique that pretty much makes hole punching a joke? If it still works on 1/3rd folds I'll be pretty happy.

yep pretty much 😀 I have not gotten a single hole punch question wrong after I used LOS method. It's flawless for everything I've encountered in Bootcamp and CDP.
The greatest thing is that it frees up so much time to tackle the harder questions.
