I've been accepted at TouroCOM Middletown but waitlisted at both UNECOM and AZCOM. I am still waiting on a few more schools but out of the three schools UNECOM is my top choice.

I am wondering if there is anything I could do to increase my chance of acceptance off the waitlist. Are letters of interests looked upon favourably? Any advice is appreciated!

Depends on the school. Ask the admissions office what they want.

Schools tend to be pretty transparent when applicants show a lot of interest.

There are tons of threads on letters of intent, etc. Not clear cut on a general response. Ask the school of they are receptive to letters of intent from people on the WL

You could send them your transcript from this semester.

Nothing but being patient, and hoping for the best.

So I guess letters of interests or updated transcripts will have minimal impact on the final decisions. Will be waiting patiently then. Thanks!

As much as this advice makes sense, I have been told that sending these letters of intent and keeping in touch helps tremendously in your placement on waitlists. at least at LECOM

I have to concur with PlaqueBuster. This is a school dependent thing and I have been told at interviews they do look at LOIs. However, make sure to contact the school. If they do accept them, even if they make a marginal difference, I would definitely send one.

Just know that waitlists tend to move more the closer the start of classes. People with multiple acceptances tend to hold out until the last minute to make a final decision and of course can only pick one school. So when the school start getting a thanks but no thanks replies from students they have been waiting in, then those on the waitlist will start getting a seat in the class. There were people in my class who got less than 2 days notice to start classes.

I have interviewed at a few schools now and can tell you that 5 out of the 6 liked the students that truly showed interest in the school! I was rejected from a school and when I called the admissions office to inquire if there was anything I could do because of how truly impressed I was with the program (not BS by the way) the admissions officer remembered who I was and told me that if I wanted to write a letter outlining my intent, experience, reasons, etc. that she would forward it to the ADCOM. She also said it would in no way help and that the decision was final but that it couldn't hurt. Catching the hint there? So I wrote the letter and e-mailed it to her. She again thanked me for my interest and apologized that she didn't have better news for me. A week later and I'm on the wait list. Another letter of intent and desire later and my file changed from wait list to under review. Coincidence? Not a chance.

Call the school. Be POLITE AND WELL MANNERED! Express your interest and WHY!!! Why is key. Next write the letter!!! Oh, and best of luck!!!

If you're not being overly annoying, it's costs nothing but your time.
Get to writing those LOI's
