What is the different between Biology/Zoology and Biology? (Listed separately on MSAR)

If I take Intro to Zoology+Lab then take Ecology+Lab. Will school take that as 8 hours of biology?

zoology is animals.. there'll be a lot of bio in that
ecology is plants and natural process, biology is involved... but i would think of that as a lower level class for boosting sgpa.. i'd recommend taking general biology as well.. so you can follow up with upper level biology like micro/molecular and genetics..

There isnt bio department in my school so there is no biology. I am not questioning the content. Since I already taken MCAT any many upper level classes (cell bio biochem genetics etc....)

I am just wondering will those fullfill the 1 year biology with lab requirement. None of my other upper level has lab. And ecology in my school is hard a **** lol...

no bio department and there cell bio?
cell bio will be 4 hours of bio..
same with genetics.. that another 4 hours of bio..
your good.. as long as those 2 had labs..
but if they didnt..
then zoology will suffice 4 hours.. however.. i think ecology will work.. but idk..
check it..

Cell bio and genetics does not have lab. (lab are offered separately if you want to take it)

Btw taking lab separately in different semester and together as part of the course makes not real difference right? For example my chem lab is included in the class but physics lab is separated?

Also where would I check regarding ecology?

check ecology if its bcpm..
if it is..
then it'll check out as a biology..

but yes.. taking a cell biology lab seems like a lot easier then taking a whole different course and lab.

Yep just check and it is 🙂

As weird as it is people can satisfy medical school requirement by taking botany and ecology lol which is nothing related to human.

So medical school will take anything listed as biology under BCPM to fullfil their requirement? Can someone confirm it?

And in my school for the zoology department, the lab is used to weed out people with out ruining their gpa (for graduate program/recommendation for graduate program etc). So to get A in lab you literally has to spend twice as much time as the lecture.
