I am now having doubts. I have never taken an official English course because it was not required by my university. However, I took an Intro Writing course(WRT course) and a Critical Writing course(WRT course) on special topics, which satisfied my English/writing requirements. Also, I took a philosophy course that analyzed literature. I assumed writing would be fine because it is under the AACOMAS: English section but I just wanted to make sure. Should I list that an English course as planned? Thank you everyone!

If offered by your English department, it should be fine. I had both English as writing classes.

It was under my writing and rhetoric department(WRT).
Try to submit the application and see if they verify it as English. Worst case scenario is you take a year of English from some community college. I would be very surprised if they didn't accept it as English.

I emailed all of the DO schools and they had said that my writing courses (not offered by the English department) would be considered as English. If you are unsure, then I would probably send emails to verify!

You should definitely email them to verify. Blindly sending those applications in may just be a waste of money. Some schools could be very strict about it. Good luck!
