I interviewed at USC a week ago and I'm just trying to consider my options if I don't get in so feedback would be very helpful. Has anyone attended Barry University or Boston University for their 1-year M.S. /M.A. programs. If so, were they helpful? What was the level of difficulty? And, any other light you may want to shed on the programs would be helpful.
Thanks,
Cantstandya!

I turned down BU's program and went to Washingtin University in St. Louis. Much cheaper and more flexible. Highly recommend it. I did the program full time. They don't advertise it as a mean to get into Med/Dent school but it can certainly be used that way. Loved everything about the program (as you can't tell already)

I know that other programs allow you to substitute your DAT, MCAT, VAT, etc for the GRE, is this true of WUSTL, if not, what score and Undergrad GPA did you have that got you in? Also, approximately what was the total amount for the entire program and what courses did you take?
Thanks a lot for the info,

They required GRE or MCAT but I convinced them that DAT is more relevant to my goals and they accepted it. Now that thay have had me, I think they will be accepting DAT scores too. My GPA was a 3.1. The program isnt hard to get into but some of the courses are very difficult, especially the course load. I transfered in 3 cr and took 4-5 courses each semester which made it very very difficult. I could have done it part time, but I wanted to show d- schools that i can handle all that work and stress. so i finished the entire program in 8.5 months!!

you select courses at the grad level (400+) from U College. you can also take day courses if you want to pay extra. i took mostly courses that had to do with biochem and molecular biology. let me know if you end up going there and i will help you selecting courses. best of luck.

thanks for all of the info. I will definitely let you know if I go there, but hopefully USC (crossing fingers) works out.

Internet searches help too.
Some of my buddies from last year went to Tulane in Louisiana for a 1 yr masters. Genetics and I think molecular biology? I am not sure if the school has recovered yet though from the recent upheaval of the heavens...

\\hey i have a couple of questions about WUSTL, did you do the Masters in Biology program or the post-bac for premed program? also what is the deadline for applying to this progam? or do they have rolling admission like can you start as early as summer?

Thanks,
