I just opened my letter today, I'm going to be a doctor!!! Anyone else get an invite from the 10/11 interview? And if so, do you have invites at other schools too? What are your plans. Just wanted to share the excitment hear who I might be sitting with in lectures 🙂.

Congratulations! I might be in your class if I don't get into my top choice before 12-14.

It's a great feeling, I've known since 10-4 that I will be a doctor. It's nice, too, that you feel the great burden of busting your butt to get in just go away overnight. The next day it will really hit you after you look at your letter for the eleventy millionth time and realize that it wasn't a dream. Just wait until people start finding out. People are treating me different; it's kind of scary how you can be the same person you were before, but people put you up on this pedestal. I went to a charity auction banquet last night, and people I didn't even know are introducing me as a med student, and expecting me to bid on high dollar items. 🙄

woot woo, congratulations!!!! It does feel good but i don't think it's sunk in yet. 🙂 Do all schools give a time limit for response? My packets at the other schools have just now been completed so I'm waiting on interviews. I'm not sure if I'll get any other invites before December but i think I'll be ok with that. I really liked KCUMB. My other choices are CCOM, DMU, and UNECOM. What are your tops schools?

Not that it matters, because if I were faced with acceptances from all, I would still have to think about it for a while. All are great schools and top tier, I would be fortunate to get into any of them, and I have been. It is a bigger decision than most realize until faced with it. When I was a freshman, I thought it would be easy, but now that it is a reality it's difficult.

I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today! I am ecstatic right now! I also interviewed on 10/11 too and was the girl from Pensacola, FL that had the not so brilliant idea to wear a skirt (I definitely did not predict what "cold" meant!) But I will soon find out!

yipeeee!!!!! congratulations!!!!!!! I remember someone from fl... blond hair and sat in the middle of the U at the presentation? i was the one that accidently ordered the "salmon" burger :S that was a mistake. So how do you feel about the school. Will you check out others? again congratulations!!!

Do you not mind that ohio requires you to stay instate (that is ohio right)? Last year i withdrew from the application process and they personally called me and asked if there was any information they could offer to encourage me to go foreword... I might have had a shot with them (they also sent a letter about available scholarships!) and I thought maybe it was my only chance to be a doctor but I just couldn’t commit myself to stay in one place for over a decade! You must really like the area or have family there I am guessing. In any case I hope you end up where you'll be happy. 🙂

But I'm a begger so I won't be a chooser.
I think the out of state thing will kill me for OSU.

OSU-COM is Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Ohio is OU-COM.

I am out of state for them, too. The funny thing is that their out of state tuition is cheaper than KCUMB's and KCOM's tuition. Quite a bit cheaper. OSU is more friendly to out of state students than you would expect from a state school.

Yup that was me. I didn't remember the Salmon incidence though (can never go wrong with the old fashioned turkey sandwich!)...I think you were probably in the other group when we split up for the tour later on.

On Tuesday I am interviewing in Toura, CA. Santa Cruz, CA is my home...so this is also a possbility, should things work out. However, I absolutely fell in love with KCUMB.

I grew up in Webb City! My mother and sister still live there. My uncle (a DO) has a clinic in the Northpark Mall.

I've only been in Joplin (actually Carl Junction) for about 5 years. I'm orginally from Southeast Kansas. Maybe we'll be calss mates somewhere (hopefully OSU) next year.

Yah, I interviewed that day too! It was freakin' cold! I got in as well. I really got good feelings from KCUMB....it's a definite possibility.

Congrats all!! I will most likely be attending KCUMB if I decide not to follow through with my PCOM interview. I interviewed in the first KCUMB batch and absolutely LOOOOVVEEEDDD the school. Hopefully I will see some of you ladies there!
