10+ year member!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Wow, that is crazy!

Can't believe I've been hanging around SDN for 10 years now. That is crazy.

In Feb 1999 I was a freshman in college: Drinking beer for lunch, compulsively playing Goldeneye on N64, and downloading Dave Matthews off of Napster.

.....wait, that was my roommate.....

.......wait, that was also me.

Alas, I didn't fall victim to the SDN vortex until I was actually in med school. My Indian roommate at that time, who was an SDN regular, pointed out the self-promoting hilarity of this thread, and I was forced to make an account (post #24 was my debut).

Since then, I've become more and more addicted to this universe. It's like heroin.😳

The minimum posts requirement is now shot down. Someone didn't per se complain, but pointedly asked why they didn't get it.

Now, anyone that averages even 0.01 posts a day, but registered all those years ago, gets the badge.

Hahaha - i'm a "selective poster" but i do read most days! I joined in 1999 when i was a 2nd year medical student. Now 10 years later I've finished residency, fellowship and am a full fledged attending! And, it flew by very very quickly.

I actually joined SDN 2 months before with a different name but eventually had to re-register when there were some "technical issues" so i really joined in Dec98 just after this thing all started.

10 years +.....thats impressive........congrats. Im with SLUser11....

10 years ago I was a Junior in high school thinking I was cool because i was an "upper classman"....who was on the prep hockey team....😎 How times change....nevertheless, Im looking forward to becoming more and more of a "regular" around here.

I am coming in right behind you two. Does that make us the "ol ladies" of surgery on SDN? 😱 Seriously, I can sort of follow my career here.

Ha ha...I guess it does since womansurg doesn't post here anymore!

It is odd to read posts from medical school and then follow them through internship, residency and fellowship to attendinghood. How time flies!

In Feb 1999 I was also a freshman in college.

In Mar 2009 SLUser is 4 years ahead of me in training. Harumph.

May I complain?

I have 0.05 posts a day and have been a member since 2006 but I don't have a 2+ year membership.

I couldn't even imagine where I'd be as a 10+ year member.

I'm getting up there too, but don't visit SDN nearly as much as I used to... I found the posts to be repetitive after awhile. I joined as a senior in college, when I was applying to med school.

Guess I'm one of the "ol ladies" of surgery too, though I read a lot more than I post... 😛
