HI everyone, I was wondering, how many 100 level classes are too many? I am just starting my sophomore year and had not learned until now that it was a problem. I obviously have to take introductory sciences at first but I also took astronomy, comp lit and philosophy 101. I was not trying to be a slacker, I intend to minor in philosophy, comp lit fills many of my particular schools reqs and I was just curious about astro. Will this reflect really poorly on me?

I wouldn't be worried about it.

At least in my degree, I needed X number of courses at the 100 level, 200 level, etc. Upper level courses recommend that you complete pre-reqs at the 100 and 200 level before you can take that class.

I took 17 classes at the 100 level.
I think you're safe.

I wouldn't worry about it too much either as long as you get in the upper level sciences. I also needed to take x number of courses in the 100 level at my school specifically for my degree (chemistry and biology) as well as for the core curriculum that my school has (philosophy, english, etc.). I also took a few others just for fun, GPA boosters when I had room in my schedule.
