What does the Fitbit do for dental students that a regular watch doesn't? excuse my ignorance.

It measures your HR, sleep activity, etc throughout the day.
People wear watches. So it shouldnt be a problem.
Not sure why it would be unprofessional. Might look a bit silly against traditional watches but probably not unprofessional.

ah I see, I knew it did all that I just thought that u knew of something that would benefit a dental student in clinic.

I have a Fitbit charge, and it's no problem...the caller id comes in handy when I'm with a patient...also quite sure there is a clock in the clinic so pushing the button with gloves on won't be a problem...with that being said, if your starting DS this fall, by time you're actually treating patients there will be a much newer version of the Fitbit which probably won't have a side button!

Yeah, I kind want a smartwatch. But theyre so expensive atm.
Take a look sometime at how many practicing dentists (and hygienists and assistants or any chairside clinical staff) wear a watch or watch like device on their wrists while treating patients....
Not very many because of either infection control concerns or just the simple fact that having something around your writs, potentially under the cuff of your gloves, can get annoying!!
If you're that time conscious, then just get a decent sized clock and position it in an area of the operatory where its easy for you to see - problem solved
