You can list it as in progress on the app but depending on how much of it difference it makes with your gpa you might want to wait to apply.

You can send the updated grades afterward but I dont think they recalculate they gpa later

GPA is calculated via the AACOMAS application. Once that is submitted, it will not be recalculated. It can be updated only to the individual schools directly but it will likely not have any impact on your GPA. My suggestion would be continue to repeat it in case you wind up being a reapplicant; it will show you worked to improve

I have had mine updated mid-process before but I had to contact them to do so. It was something along the lines of them averaging my last two grades instead of replacing it (not a policy thing, just a glitch in the data entry). If you have very few credits and its an F to an A then it could be significant so make sure to update it with them.

It was AACOMAS. At least I hope they updated it haha. I clicked on the link for each school to get a printout/pdf of what was sent and it showed the new GPA. It is the only way that I remember that you can view your calculated GPA under last year's system.

I wonder with the new application server how this will change for those of us taking summer classes

Same here. I'm taking Gen Chem III to replace a C+ and it doesn't end until August 8th. So if I were to submit in July I couldn't update my AACOMAS GPA for schools to see after I get my replacement grade in August? It would just be an extra grade for schools to see with my application as an update?

Yeah summer grades won't be released until early July for me, so we'll just have to wait and see what AACOMAS says on May 5th.

Worse case scenario is that we apply to only 1 school in May to get the verification process rolling, then apply to the rest after summer grades are released

Gotcha. So even if we apply to just one school to get the verification process going we can still update our AACOMAS GPA before sending out to the rest of schools? Example: Apply to LUCOM in May with 3.4 AACOMAS GPA, get out grade in August and apply to rest of schools with new 3.5 AACOMAS GPA. It's just that we can't update the AACOMAS application after we've applied to X school?

And does this apply to other things other than the GPA, such as personal statement edits/ECs, etc?

Yeah basically two courses got listed as the final attempt instead of listing the previous one as a repeat. I cannot confirm, but my knowledge of how I would imagine the system handling it would be to average both courses instead of replacing it. Definitely a glitch though and my GPA went up significantly because of it. Also end of August is totally fine for DO schools but honestly just apply early and see if you can have it updated mid-cycle or to specific schools of interest. I feel as applying early is worth more than waiting for something that will not heavily affect your GPA. Just me though.

Good Luck!

Yeah, we really need to hold tight and wait for official answers next week. Then make our decisions.

Hopefully this whole new AACOMAS server will make updating with summer grades easier than previous cycles

Hey does anybody know what to do in the case of repeating a course this quarter? Should I mark the previous grade with 0 units and put the in-progress class and mark it as repeat?
