I really, really want to go into OMFS. And it's gotten me to the point where I am going crazy about every single point, every attendance recording, etc., and it's driving me crazy. I keep wondering why on earth I didn't decide to go to a P/F program. Assuming I will score well on NBME, can I stop worrying so much about my d-school grades? Please help.
DO you know which programs have a history of taking their interns?Just work as hard as you can and live with the grades you have. I am a believer that if you want to get into OMS badly enough, you'll eventually do it.
If you don't have superstar numbers coming out of dental school, an internship year would do wonders for your chances. Some places are notorious for taking their own interns into their residency program the following match.
I've known some people who are not even in the top 25% of their class manage to match after doing an internship year. So take a deep breath and calm down. Work as hard as you can and let the grades and ranks fall into place. Then evaluate from there.
