12/30/2010 yayyyy DAT DONE

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey!

Great job on your DAT! Those are great scores and I would be so happy with those scores!!

How much time per day did you put into studying and for how many weeks?

You also mentioned, Crack DAT Reading -- is that helpful??

You def destroyed the sciences! That is the highest ts that i have seen on sdn! Amazing!! I wouldn't worry about the qr and rc, 19's are very good scores and are considered competitive. You did amazing, I would love to have your scores.

You will present an interesting applicaiton to admissions when you apply. You did very well on the DAT but you have a lower than accepted average GPA.

My GPA is simular to you and have thought alot about prepairing well for the DAT to do very well as you have - my thinking is too make every aspect of my applictaion glow due to my lower GPA. What more can you do then try to raise it before the next application cyce?

Great job and GL.

Way to Kill the DAT! I think as long as you present yourself well, you'll have no problem garnering a few acceptances. With that being said, I wish your RC had made it into the 20's!

But don't stress about it... rockstar scores!

I think I studied for 5-8 hrs a day initially because I had summer classes. Then in september I studied about 10-12 hrs a day. And during my hardcore review I just did nothing but studying. Looked at flashcards while I ate and I stuck flashcards on my bathroom mirror to look at it while brushing my teeth. If you have a lot to cover for the DAT I would suggest stretching out your studies to more than 3 months and doing little by little to prevent burnout and stress.

I think Crack DAT Reading is helpful to find a RC strategy that works for you by practicing different methods, but the passages are much shorter that the real thing so it's not a good indicator of how you will score. If you did well on SAT reading comprehension I think you'd have no trouble with DAT RC. I'm a slow reader and I'm just naturally bad at RC.

Thank you but there are many more people with higher scores than me on sdn 🙂

I wish you luck! I'm a bad testtaker and I was able to do it so anyone can do it with a little hardwork.

I dont know if you had the whole 10 exam version but after exam like 6 the passages just sky rocket in length. The 8th exam had two passages with 20+ paragraphs 😱. I hope that isnt the same on the real thing.

If you dont mind, could you post your scores on the first 5 or whatever you took on Crack reading?

Thanks

which campbell bio edition did u use? i was wondering if there's a big difference in 6th (2002)

Thanks

I haven't seen the 6th edition before but I don't think it would be that different from the 7th edition that I used, since the 8th edition was practically the same as the 7th ed. So if you already have the 6th edition I would just use it. But if you're really paranoid like me you can get the 7th edition for less than $20 on amazon.

If only I had a 20!! I saw the table of percentile and scores from last year's exam and 67.6 percentile was a 20!

The piano passage just killed me.....all three passages were super long and hard.

lol Your scores are nearly perfect. Your percentiles are PERFECT. You have absolutely nothing to worry about.
You are way above average.
I am sure that you will get in somewhere. If you wont get in, no one will.

I had the 5 exam version. Darn maybe I should've gotten the 10 exam version. I only took 4 CDR tests and tried different strategies out. Everyone does really well with S&D but it just didn't work for me.

CDR 1: 18
CDR 2: 16
CDR 3: 18
CDR 4: 21
