Also very hard to learn anything from answers without accounting for the types of interviews. Your state schools that interview 85% of residents that apply, vs a private school with a 10% interview rate, that kind of thing.

I wish my state school interviewed 85% of residents...🙁

There's so much that goes into this process, it's painful. Second application cycle. First time I applied somewhat late, ok MCAT, received 1 II and no acceptance. I retook my MCAT and scored infinitely better. I also got my application in very early this time around. Expanded to include DO programs. Already have 5 IIs - 1 MD, 4 DO - and a DO acceptance.

I'm surprised to see there's such a large percentage of voters that had four interviews and no acceptance.

Last time I applied (2 yrs ago), I got 1 II only. Thought I did pretty well on it too, but never got anywhere with that haha.

Aren't there people that look awesome on paper but then bomb interviews in general (nerves, arrogance, etc)?
Sure, but definitely not 11.1% (as it currently stands) of the total.

Wow this is freaking me out! Thought I was good with more than 7 IIs but I am now second guessing my whole life 🙁
Gotta hibernate from SDN until the end of this whole season! Good luck everyone!

This also doesn't take into consideration when the interviews happened. I sadly have a friend who received five interviews and no acceptances last year. However, only one of them was in the fall and the other four were in February and beyond, at which point it is less likely that it will be fruitful.

Hoping the 20% 7+ club is just trolling otherwise we all screwed

Not so much concerned by the clearly goofing 7+ club, but the alarmingly real and high percentage in the 4 interviews 0 acceptances club

Also, remember that currently the poll has 21 votes. It's hard to get any meaningful data from such a small (and self selecting) sample

People who get 7+ interviews are either superstars or have low stats but something attractive that gets them many interviews from lower tier schools with low post interview accept rates (NYMC, Tufts, Oakland, Penn State ect.)

Just based on a few applicants I've known. Most of those 7+ votes are trolls though.
