This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Judging from what I’ve seen on here over the years, the top schools seem to be the most generous, and if the rest of your app is as impressive as your stats...

Sorry, but not sorry that my post makes you feel insecure.

Oh yes. I'm totally doing this right now:

I was very fortunate to get merit offers of full cost of attendance from UCLA and NYU, and full tuition from Wash U with similar stats. I know peeps who got substantial merit awards at Chicago, Vanderbilt, Columbia, Michigan, Penn, Mayo, and Duke. No rhyme or reason to who gets what, but I think essays and interviews might be the key??

Stats like yours. An interest in public health and policy. No pubs. No major awards. What set me apart? Mostly luck, but possibly enthusiasm and the ability to communicate said enthusiasm. My best advice is to write thoughtful essays!

I can tell you that most secondaries were the same as the prior year, so start writing now. I don't believe there is formula for success other than write with clarity and authenticity. As far as interview prep, be sure to read about and practice MMI. My most generous offers came from MMI schools. Hope that helps!

It sure seems like you are given the level of insecurity you display. People like you give SDN a bad name and undermine the site. That's why Reddit has become such a big platform overtaking SDN. If you made a peep at Reddit with comments like yours you would quickly be downvoted so that nobody would have to waste time reading your useless comments. I think the mods should ban you given the zero effort that you put into your comments and the fact that you create a negative atmosphere on the web site.

You literally said that I “feel insecure” because of your MCAT and GPA.

All I did was make a joke.

What’s worse, really?

If you don't like someone's thread, don't respond to it. This tit-for-tat nonsense is childish.

That's helpful. Does JHU also give merit-based scholarships? I saw some articles where they express views against the practice of doing so. Perhaps things have changed over the past decade.
JHU does not give merit-based aid.
