I really wouldn't worry about it. Its 1) an easy mistake to make 2) its a super minor part of your application. The award is just given to people with x GPA, they already know your GPA 3) at my school cum laude alone is top 8%, it isn't unbelievable that magna cum laude would be 5% at another school.

I highly doubt any will look into it and if they do they'll probably make the same mistake you did when interpreting it if they just take a quick glance. Regardless I don't think it matters.

I listed Magna Cum Laude on my application, and I put in the description that it acknowledges the top 5% of students at my undergraduate institution. On the website it says: Summa Cum Laude is the top 2% and the next 5% falls under Magna Cum Laude. I mistakenly interpreted this as the top 5% but I just now realize this means it's the top 7%.....F**** ME!!!! Will adcoms think I'm trying to misrepresent myself here? Because I am honestly just stupid and totally misread the website description. Any thoughts on how to remedy this?
Would any wise adcoms like to chime in also? I'd really appreciate their perspective on this as well!
It doesn't matter. Your GPA speaks for itself. Adcomms know the criteria vary from school to school and won't have yours memorized.

Do not call attention to the mistake by trying to "remedy" it.
