So I volunteer with a clinic for the uninsured, but it is very unorganized in keeping track of volunteers. I would have to call in in advance every time to come in to volunteer (there is no set schedule), and they do not track hours per se, but they do list the applicant that worked a specific day on a computer (there isn't an applicant profile were they can pull up the days and amount of hours an applicant has worked).
So I've been keeping track of my hours with a piece of paper. However, recently, the volunteering office has not been answering any calls, so I've just been coming in about once every 2 months so that I don't have to put in a break in the AMCAS activity section. I've still had the piece of paper signed by the on floor manager each and every time, but he is not in charge of the volunteer scheduling, so my name won't be on the computer. They cannot add a persons name on the schedule retroactively. I will list the on floor manager as the verification contact (which is what the volunteering office recommends), is there any problems that can come of this situation?
Main question that would put me to ease: If I send him an email to verify the hours I have worked right now with my sheet of paper as proof with his signatures, and he sends me back an email that he agrees with the same email address I will list on AMCAS, would that be sufficient proof if any trouble comes out of this in the future (maybe he no longer works at the clinic and instead they contact the volunteering office that has SOME of my volunteering times missing - this wouldn't affect the hours, but it would show that I haven't been volunteering for an extended period of time which I would not have put in AMCAS)?
