Hi @vacation-sedation! Unfortunately, I have no clue about your first question- I guess call and ask them about how they provide official transcripts? For your second question, I would research schools where you intend to apply. Many schools do not accept online courses for science prerequisites. So keep that in mind before you spend money on those courses you mentioned. Best wishes!

Hi

Here come a couple of questions:

So I while I was on the pre-nursing track I completed A&P 2 (lecture and lab), Microbio (lecture and lab), and Nutrition (lecture) via Portage Learning which is an online platform through regionally accredited Geneva College (recommended by several nursing programs). I am wondering how these classes would be reported in the AMCAS / AACOMAS systems for transcripts.

According to the Geneva College site for transcripts, "Geneva College-Portage Learning transcripts are not available through the National Student Clearinghouse nor are they available electronically at this time. To order a transcript, Geneva-Portage students should contact transcripts@portagelearning.com or call 1-888-724-3590 x 3."

How would these courses work when trying to apply to MD/DO schools? Has anyone here taken Portage Learning courses before medical school?

Also, they offer pharmacology and pathophysiology online. If these Portage courses are able to be "counted" for AMCAS/AACOMAS, should I consider taking these classes? How would medical schools view them as online lecture courses?

Thanks!

Did you ever figure out how this would work?

Hi, did the schools you applied to end up accepting your courses from Portage? I'm thinking of taking Biochemistry, but I'm scared they won't accept it.
