Honestly, for the sake of your gpa (and probably your sanity) take pass/fail for Gen chem 2. If your school isn’t doing the covid pass/fail thing, retake the class in the fall.
Regardless work on developing better study habits and just show improvement in the future. Cs aren’t the end of the world. You’re just starting you have plenty of time to improve.

I'm pretty sure "upward trend" is for people who are juniors/seniors who make all A's after having mediocore freshman/sophomore years. I wouldn't really consider anything from your 2nd semester of college an upward trend since you still have so many semesters left of college. If you want to recover from bad Gen Chem grades, it is simple. Make As in your Ochem classes.
