The programs are smaller by and large, and thus from what I remember from the numbers a touch more competitive. If someone doesn’t want to do peds it seems like a bad idea.

I was thinking the same thing but after crunching the numbers it’s a no-go. Each program only has like 4 new residents, and only 18 of the “Top 30” IM programs even have med-peds residencies so there’s less prestige to go around.

Comparably hard or harder. I've heard of PC track being used that way, but I doubt they're matching people without some evidence of a PC mission
I actually want PC and would prefer PC track, but they seem to be more common at more prestigious places/and or filled with higher percent USMDs vs categorical at the same program.
