The rank/prestige of an MBA program is much more important than rank/prestige of a medical school. One of the main reasons for this is that many executives at Fortune 500 companies will return to school later in their careers to pursue an MBA at one of these top programs. These business executives can help students establish important connections for the careers they are pursuing. If one wishes to pursue a career in business, and especially in a niche field such as med-business, establishing connections that can jumpstart this career path is much easier at a top, well known MBA program. Plus, many companies recruit more heavily from these top programs so more doors will be open to OP should they decide to pursue med business.
